This crash course makes available for those who have
not studied music to now be able to read music, choral or instrumental. It also makes
available a review of music notes and rest values, music signs, key signatures, and other
important music theory for one who has studied music in previous years.
Throughout these easy to understand lessons, Mr. Cannan reminds students to "sing
along" as each note is sounded on the keyboard. This not only develops the ability to
sing exactly on pitch, but to sight read new music as well.
Several pages preceding the lessons are given in order that the student may write music
using the correct note values and rests learned in the previous lesson.
School choir directors can teach beginning students the fundamentals of choral music.
